Guided Fly Fishing Adventures on Vermont and New York Rivers & Streams!

John Rogers has called Arlington his home for over 20 years. From his hometown in Vermont to Labrador, New Zealand and Europe, John has fly-fished across the globe. For the past five years he was an Orvis endorsed guide with Taconic Guide service, a select group of highly-experienced New England guides, and has been published in The Orvis News and American Angler.

Vermont Flyfishers targets wild browns, rainbows, native brook trout and in the super warm (late July & August) months carp. You will gain access to less pressured spots on the famed Battenkill River in John's 14' Smithfly drift boat or experience one of many other amazing fisheries in the area like the Walloomsac River, Hoosic River or Otter Creek. For the adventurous and fleet of foot, scale the green mountains in search of wild native brook trout. Vermont Flyfishers customizes each fly fishing adventure to match your individual interests and goals.

Conservation efforts

Take a guided fly fishing float trip on the legendary Battenkill river or one of several other highly productive rivers in the area not as well known (a.k.a. pressured). The 14' Smithfly fly fishing raft will get us to the unreached places targeting browns, rainbows and brook trout. You will fish from the boat and in certain key spots get out a wade. We will fly fish employing several tactics and techniques depending on the hatch, conditions and fish behavior. Some approaches are common, some are old school and some I've developed over years of fishing these waters. !
