NOTES

Bugs On The Surface

Battenkill River

I got out on the Battenkill river for some scouting snd little fly fishing during the warm part of the day.  Flows are up but not crazy.  Water temps where in the low 40's.  I brought a streamer rig and euro nymh rig with me and much to my shagrin I found a winter black stone fly hatch in full swing.  it was fun to get out and kick around for an hour or so -- next time out I'll hit it a little harder so I can post a fish pick.  Some Vermont fly fishing guides are posting some nice fish taken on streamers in the slow winter holding spots.
