Early Fall Big Rain

Cool Evening Temps Are Brining Southern Vermont Rivers Into The Healthy Zone
It's time to get out there and fly fish in southern Vermont again! Last night in southern Vermont it was 45 degrees. Slammin Day
We got some much needed rain in Southern VT which got the water up to normal level and just a touch off color which was great for tricking wiely brown trout into eating. On today guided fly fishing float trip we had close to 20 eats, a dozen hook-ups and 6 fish landed the largest a 19"+ brown. It was steady action and a lot of fun...

First Time Fly Fishers Quick Learners

Steady Day
Steady day on the river starting with rising fish early morning and ending with some streamer chases and catches. We had a cold feont push through the night before so i exoected things to be slow but not the case- we had steady action the entire float.

Double Digit Day on the Battenkill River
Steady day of fish taken on the NY stretch of the Battenkill; During our 4 mile guided fly fishing float trip we had 20+ eats, a dozen streamer chases and 10 fish to net made for a fun day on the river.

Quality Not Quantity Today
Beutiful, sunny, low water day on the hoosic river. Nothing hatching so we worked streamers, wets and nymphs. 5 eats with 2 nice rainbows to net. Beutiful day to be on the water!

Great Day
Bright sunny day fly fishing in southern Vermont. We managed to get a dozen or so trout to eat and a five to net (2 long line releases but we had a quality dance). All sub-surface today given the late start but still fun. Some thick fish - all rainbows and browns in the 16-18" range.

Active Fish Day
Steady action all day today. warer was a but low and no major hatch activity but had fish eating all day with small nymphs and a dry/dropper set-up. 4 solid fish to net and a few long line releases. Really fun float.

Big Big Brown
Great day with a pile of eats and several fish to net with the biggest being this 23" brown taken on a 5 wt Trident Rod, 5x tippet and a size 16 nymph.
